CELEBRITY | Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage swear not to do their show in South Africa


Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage says she is out from a concert she was planning to perform in South Africa later this month because of ongoing violence against foreign nationals.
The Afrobeats-starred musician was scheduled to perform at the main stage of the DSTV Delicious Festival on Saturday, September 21, in Johannesburg, a city that has experienced massive violence of foreign shops from African countries.


Earlier artist Burna Boy of the Afrobeat movement in Nigeria also vowed to never step foot in South Africa after violence against foreign nationals broke out in the country.

In some of Twitter posts the 28 year old artist said he had never visited the country since 2017 but would never visity it until the South African government solve the issue.

"But the government is supposed to work miracles but I don't know how it will handle the matter ", he added.

Police in South Africa have already arrested over a hundred people who have attacked foreign nationals in the cities of Johannesburg, Pretoria and elsewhere.

He artist, who won the BET international award in June, said attacks on foreign nationals went against morality - and hinted at how African continent helped the country in the fight against white people.
